Wildlife Watch is a newly launched website to entertain and inform the 130,000 registered junior members of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trust. We created a flash game with leaderboard and challenge a friend systems to engage existing users and help attract new visitors to the site.
Brief
Our brief was to create a game that would help engage the under-18 users of the newly launched Wildlife Watch site and educate aswell as entertain.
Our Solution
In Rock 'N Vole players adopt the role of Rocky the Water Vole and must guide him as he swims through a series of salt marsh creeks avoiding floating logs, oil slicks, abandoned trolleys and swooping owls.
Eating fir cones gives him an extra speed burst which when pressed makes Rocky start speeding along the water to a driving rock soundtrack.
Picking up clover gives an extra life.
Players must try to make it as quickly as possible through each level. The fastest times go into the game's leaderboard and players can challenge their friends to beat their score by email.
At the end of each level, players are given a random Did you Know fact about water voles.
