Lee & Thompson is the leading media and entertainment law firm, representing some of the world’s most highly acclaimed musicians, actors, producers, television personalities and sports people.

The Brief

Lee and Thompson came to Liveline with an outdated flash website, wanting us to help create a a presence that was easy to use, visually more in keeping with the industries in which they work and would help generate new business for them. They wanted to be able to publish new content to the site but don't anticipate doing this more than monthly so wanted an automated way of keeping the site fresh.

Our Solution

With an impressive array of well known public figures across many media sectors that trust the firm with their legal needs, we wanted to engage new visitors interest by focusing attention on those clients. When the user lands on the Home page, About Us page or any one each of detail pages outlining the firms areas of Expertise, they are created with a “random” selection selection of their relevant clients. Its ultimately the lawyers that make a good law firm, so we wanted to make the Our People section prominent and in depth. Each of the Expertise pages on the 11 sectors in which they operate contain one or two specialists for the visitor to contact directly so they can instantly be connected with the right person to start advising them. The simple navigation system allows the user to quickly access any page in the site from whereever they may currently be. We also implemented a content management systems that allows them to easily add new clients, news stories and associate new lawyers to the areas of Expertise. They can also edit any of the text and banner imagery throughout themselves. To ensure the content is always kept fresh the site detects if a new news story hasn't been published in the last week it will then automatically display the latest entertainment story from a Reuters RSS feed.

Result

The new site has seen a huge uplift in traffic to Lee and Thompson.com without any online promotion other than the search engine optimisation work conducted as part of the redesign. There has been 340% increase in traffic to the site since it went live. New visits in December have increased by 385% and have come to the site from just under 400 different keywords. Traffic to the site through Search Engines traffic now accounts for 69% of all traffic to the site, a phenomenal increase of 910%. The amount of visitors from referring sites has also increased by 179%
