GT Solar is a global market leader in the equipment essential for producing the key materials used to make solar cells and panels.
The Brief
The New York office of Hill and Knowlton, the multinational PR company, asked us to work with them on creating a new website for their client GT Solar.
The brief was to make a complete modernisation of their site but based on their existing brand identity. The site needed to convey their company information and product range in detail, have a news section that could be quickly and easily updated, a section where Case Studies from relevant client installations from around the world could be viewed and an area for their public financial data to be viewed.
The site required an extensive content management system, and a Chinese version has recently been added.
Our Solution
We designed the site to be clean and simple in its layout with big bold images and a detailed sub navigation structure to house large amounts of content.
The home page uses a javascript banner to quickly convey the key messages of the brand and pulls in the latest news content from that area of the site.
A custom built CMS was created which gives them extensive control over the site content.
To create a Chinese version of the site we used translations.com which greatly sped up the implementation time and lowered the costs for the client.
Result
We now work directly with GT Solar on the ongoing management of the website which attracts over 10,000 visitors a month.
